THE ART CLASS
Broad and fine brush brushes
Waves and rivers intersect
When I try to paint the map of your desires
Fast, juxtaposed spots of colour,
that capture fleeting light.
Beneath the mask of liest describing your skin as simple and
there's no art in fighting.
But your moistened lips outshine almost all colour,
They remind me that your gaze explains why,
Every fabric reflects light in a unique way.
As you walk down the wild street
I hope someone understands your masterpiece.
Only you can explain beauty and peace,
Of the physical relief on the canvas that catches all light,
In the open wounds of a desperate past,
That you can see beyond the walls of loneliness...
Waiting for me, you float in the naked sea
Lines fade from loose paint
And shapes elude you at the end of my art class.
